Animals
Animals are not permitted to travel on BMBC buses. This rule excludes assistance animals or an assistance animal in training.
Changes to timetables
Sometimes timetables and bus routes change. You can check for updates here or by phoning the Blue Mountains Bus Company 4751 1077 or by calling the Transport InfoLine on 131 500.
Connections
Blue Mountains Bus Co provides passenger bus services throughout the Blue Mountains from Penrith to Mt Victoria. Passengers should note that connections are not guaranteed and buses may not be held in the event of late running services.

Fares
Adult fares are charged for passengers 16 years or older. Government approved passes or proof of age must be produced when requesting concession fares. Concession fares apply to School students showing a valid school student ID. Unreadable passes will not be accepted. Tickets must be retained for the duration of your journey and produced when requested by a Government inspector or BMBC representative.
How to use our new timetable
- Using the route map provided, find the two timing points you are located between
- Locate these two timing points on the timetables
- Your bus is scheduled to arrive between the times shown for these points For example, if your bus stop is situated between timing points A and B on the map, then the bus is scheduled to arrive between the time listed for A and the time listed for B.
Lost property
Any items found on our buses can be claimed by phoning your local depot: Valley Heights – (02) 4751 1077, Emu Plains: (02) 4735 5734 or Katoomba: (02) 4784 2800 between 9.00am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday or Saturday morning – Valley Heights office only (02) 4751 1077. Paying for children
A child under the age of 4 years accompanying any one passenger is allowed to travel free of charge if not occupying a seat. Fares must be paid for any children occupying seats.
Penrith Rail Bus Zones
Buses operating through Penrith use Penrith Rail Interchange
- Zone 13 – Emu Heights
- Zone 14 – Leonay
- Zone 15 – Springwood
Prohibited Items
Prohibited items – Smoking, eating or drinking is not permitted on any bus (unless food or drink is required for medical reasons).
Flammable substances or any item that may cause harm or damage to BMBC Employees, Customers or Property are not permitted at any time. Bicycles and other large objects that may obstruct the aisles are not permitted for safety reasons.

Ticket purchase
Buses take cash only, correct fare or as close as possible preferable due to the driver carrying only a small amount of change.

To purchase your ticket
You can buy the ticket from the driver of the bus.
Prams and Strollers
For safety reasons you must have your pram or stroller folded up before boarding the bus.
Wheelchair accessibility
The Company provides wheelchair accessible services as identified by the wheelchair symbol on each timetable. Please click here to view our timetables.
