School Travel FAQ's

How do I get a bus pass?

Obtain an application form from your student's school office, complete the form and the school will send the information to us.

When will I get my bus pass?

All bus passes are sent to the school at the beginning of the school year and distributed by the school office.

Can I use my bus pass to travel to before and/or after school care?

No, Free School Bus passes are only for travel to and from the student's home address.

How do I know what bus to catch to and from school?

All school buses are identified with a 3 or 2 digit number displayed in the front window, please check the school timetables (place a link to school timetables) or contact our office for further information.

How do I find a seat?

The sooner you find a seat, the sooner the bus can continue its trip. So find a seat quickly, but please leave the front seats vacant for younger and/or disabled students who may board after you.

How do I let the driver know I want to get off the bus?

Let the driver know you want to get off by pressing the Stop request button as you approach your stop. The bus driver will pull over at the first stop he or she can safely use after you request your stop.

What bus timetable do I use for Weekend and Holiday Services

Please refer to individual timetables (place a link here to timetable info) for details on Weekend and Public Holiday service times. Also please look out for special notices to advise you of these occurrences.

Can I take a stroller on the bus?

Yes, Folded strollers will be carried

Can I take animals on the bus?

No unless they are accompanying blind or deaf passengers, guide dogs may travel free on all buses.

What happens if I leave something on the bus?

Blue Mountains Bus Company is not responsible for articles left on the bus, so it's important that you gather all your belongings before you exit the bus. If you find something that has been left, please give it to your driver. If you lose something on a Blue Mountains Bus Company bus call our Lost Property Section on 4751 1077 between 8.30am and 5.00pm , Monday to Friday. How much will my ticket cost?

Tickets are issued for all full fares. Please ensure you retain tickets for inspection. Click here for full details on Fares and Sections (place link here to fares). To obtain a school bus pass, apply at your school. Lost or mutilated passes may be replaced at our office.

How can I give you feedback?

Should you wish to comment on a particular bus or driver, please note the registration of the bus for identification purposes and complete the feedback form on line or call our office.

Can I have a concession fare?

Please tender the correct fare on entry to the bus to avoid unnecessary delays. Children 15 years and over are required to pay adult fares unless traveling to or from school. Proof of age may be required. Concession Cards must be shown to the driver or full fare will be charged.

Can I eat, smoke or drink on the bus?

No, under Government transport regulations, smoking is not permitted on buses. The consumption of food and drink (including chewing gum) is also not permitted. (except for medical reasons)

How can I hire a bus or coach?

Please complete the charter booking form and fax to our office on 4751 1079.

How many passengers can I take on the coach?

We have different sized coaches all fitted with seat belts, some are fitted with a toilet and include ñ 48, 53,57 and 63 seat coaches.

Is there a minimum number of passengers to hire a coach?

No, the price is for the vehicle, time and distance traveled, it is not quoted at a per head rate.
